Agent
Core Concepts
The seven building blocks behind every Katexs agent, and how they fit together.
Agent
An agent is your AI employee. It has a brain (LLM), a voice (or text), a memory (knowledge base), and hands (tools). You configure all of this in the Creator.
Prompt
The system prompt is your agent's instruction manual. It defines personality, goals, conversation flow, and boundaries. Good prompts are specific. Bad prompts are vague.
Voice vs chat
Same brain, different mouth. A voice agent speaks over the phone. A chat agent types on your website. Both use the same prompt, knowledge base, and tools.
Tools
Functions your agent can call during a conversation. Pre-built tools include Calendar Check, Book Appointment, CRM Push, and Transfer. Each tool has parameters the agent fills in based on the conversation.
Knowledge base
Documents your agent can reference β PDFs, text files, or pasted content. The agent searches this during calls to answer questions accurately instead of guessing.
Campaigns
Outbound operations. Upload a CSV of leads, map columns, and schedule a call blast. Each lead gets a personalized call from your agent.
Teams
Group agents together for routing. A customer calls your main number, and team rules decide which agent handles it based on time, language, or intent.
