Cookie Policy
Effective Date: September 1, 2026
1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device when you visit it. They let the site remember information about your visit — such as whether you are signed in, which workspace you last opened, or how you prefer the interface to look.
Katexs also uses similar technologies such as local storage and session storage. Where this policy says "cookies," it means all of these technologies together.
2. How Katexs Uses Cookies
Essential cookies keep the platform working. They maintain your session, authenticate you between page loads, protect against cross-site request forgery, and route your requests securely. These cannot be switched off inside the product because the platform cannot function without them.
Analytics cookies help us understand usage patterns, page views, and which features are actually used. This data is aggregated and used to improve reliability and product direction.
Preference cookies remember your settings — interface theme, selected workspace, table density, and other choices — so you do not have to set them again on every visit.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are set by providers we rely on to operate Katexs. Analytics providers such as Google Analytics help us measure product usage. Payment processors such as Stripe set cookies to complete transactions securely and to detect fraud.
These providers process data under their own privacy and cookie policies. We do not sell your data, and we do not use third-party cookies for cross-site advertising.
4. Cookie Table
| Cookie Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| katexs_session | Essential | Authentication and session continuity | Session |
| _ga | Analytics | Usage tracking and aggregate reporting | 2 years |
| katexs_prefs | Preference | Stores user settings such as theme and workspace | 1 year |
5. Managing Cookies
Every major browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies from its settings or privacy panel. You can block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, or clear cookies already stored on your device.
Please note that disabling essential cookies will break core functionality: you will not be able to sign in, stay signed in, or use the Katexs platform.
6. Your Choices
You can opt out of analytics cookies by using your browser's tracking-protection or do-not-track settings, or by installing an analytics opt-out extension provided by the analytics vendor.
Browser guides for managing cookies are published by Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge in their respective help centers under "cookies and site data."
7. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time as the platform changes or as legal requirements evolve. When we do, we update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated in the product or by email.
